As a Dallas local and an entrepreneur, I consider this city the ultimate playground for fun and work. My personal and work life tend to blend into each other because my business revolves around two of my favorite things: food and fitness. So I enjoy planning my day around work and checking out new places. Talk about killing two birds with one stone when you can turn a workday into a really fun one. I had the awesome opportunity to plan out a really fun day in Plano with That’s Tempting.
XO Coffee Company
Running my own business allows me the awesome luxury to set up in any coffee shop, sip on a latte and get stuff done! Most mornings, I like to start with something warm, a rockin’ playlist and a list of all the tasks I plan on crushing. I started my morning at XO Coffee Company in East Plano.
It’s such an adorable shop and something totally new. I’m a huge fan of checking out new places. I was pretty stoked they served coffee AND food because I was starving. I ordered their lovely lavender latte and a veggie quiche. Perfect way to kick off my morning as I tackled deadlines, emails, and phone calls.
After a hectic morning, I needed a mental break! One of my favorite times to work out is in the middle of the day. Lunch time workouts are a great way to break up the monotony of the day and re-engergize you. I decided to stop in to Lync Cycling in the Shops at Legacy and take a spin class. It so happened to be Turnt Tuesday and there was a theme ride! First class for newcomers is free. Just sign up online and reserve your bike before class.
They also have a nice bathroom stocked with different amenities and a shower if you need to get in a quick rinse before heading back to work. Super convenient for the area.
Earl’s Kitchen and Bar
Legacy West is brand spanking new and I’ve been dying to check it out. Plano is getting all the cool stuff! It’s located on the opposite side of the Tollway from the Shops at Legacy and was a quick drive from the spin studio.
Parking was easy in the garage and I took my time walking around before settling on Earl’s Kitchen and Bar for lunch. There were so many options and the new retail and shopping center isn’t even complete. Earl’s is gorgeous and is an upscale casual dining restaurant. They offer a pretty diverse menu from sushi, to power bowls, steak, burgers and tacos. I opted for a lighter option and chose their Avocado and Quinoa Power Bowl with Chicken. A friend of mine joined me for lunch and I nibbled on the fries and Leroy’s Crispy Ribs which tasted like chicharonnes.
I can’t wait to come back and check out the rest of Legacy West. Joining the Shake Shack, North Italia, True Food Kitchen and Mesero will be Taverna, Dean & Deluca and so much more!
Oh yea… can’t miss dessert. I had to grab myself a red velvet cupcake from Sprinkles on the way out.
After lunch, I needed to make a trip back to Dallas for business, but couldn’t wait for dinner at Flemings. It just so happened I had reservations the same night as their restaurant’s one year anniversary!
Dinner was divine and I really enjoyed their summer pre-fixed menu. My friend chose the tomahawk steak and I chose to go with a filet mignon with shrimp. Can we say gainz!? It was delicious and the perfect end to a busy and eventful day! So glad I ate lighter for lunch earlier.
